Ruddington Merry Monday – Maypole & more!
A Maypole, Morris Dancers, music and more! Everyone’s invited to the May Day Bank Holiday community get-together. It’s from 1pm on Monday 6th May 2024 on Ruddington Village Green.
It’s a FREE family event, with an afternoon of entertainment, organised by Ruddington Parish Council (RPC),which has as revealed the running order for ‘Ruddington Merry Monday’ as follows:
1.00pm – Nottingham Concert Band
1.55pm – Mortimers Morris Dancers
2.40pm – Nottingham Concert Band
3.30pm – Mortimers Morris Dancers
4.15pm – Ruddington Community Choir
4.50pm – Maypole Dancing – willing volunteers wanted!
RPC says: “Listen to Ruddington Community Choir, Nottingham Concert Band, watch Mortimers’ Morris Dancers and even have a go yourself at a bit of Maypole dancing – don’t worry someone will try and teach you!”
Organisers add: “Some benches and tables and shade will be provided, because there will be sun! We will be joined by The Split Screen Food & Drink Company – for their last appearance in the van. And Luigi of Coronato Bros will be popping by in his ice cream van.”
However, if there isn’t sun (some possibly heavy showers are forecast), then St Peter’s Church is on standby to move all the entertainment indoors instead.
